Teacher Training for Children's Yoga

Yoga at School Certificate for Teaching Yoga to Children (YaS CTYC)

Where is the best place to learn to be a confident and successful teacher?

The best teacher training for children’s yoga takes place in the school environment working with children under the watchful eye of an experienced children's yoga teacher. We believe this is the best and most practical way to enhance your confidence, to improve your class management skills and to enrich the content, structure and delivery of your lessons.

Who will train you?
You will train with Michael Chissick. Michael's goal is to foster capable and enthusiastic people to be accomplished and skilful children's yoga teachers.

Michael is well known as 'The Teachers' Teacher'

Michael is the author of the only accredited teacher training course for children’s yoga in the UK - The BTEC Advanced Diploma for Teaching Yoga to Children.

His expertise in designing teacher training courses at the appropriate level and delivering training is unique. Michael is also a British Wheel of Yoga (BWY) Diploma Holder and a qualified primary school teacher.

Michael has taught yoga in both primary and special needs schools for some considerable time and is acknowledged by the yoga community and the education sector as a genuine leader in this field.

Why is this the best course for you?

There are three commanding reasons why this course enables you to become a more confident teacher:

Firstly, you get to see at first hand what top classroom management looks like; how to manage and deal with challenging behaviours and how to teach up to eight classes in a day successfully.

This type of practical experience is priceless.

Weekend courses with your peers are great fun and they do serve a purpose, but they cannot authentically replicate the reality of a class of children and therefore cannot adequately prepare you for the work.

Secondly, you will learn how to teach the complete range of children from Foundation Stage to Year 6. That means children aged from 3 to11.

This means that you will experience and develop appropriate teaching approaches for all the different age groups. In other words you will be ready and able to teach any and all classes in primary school.

Thirdly, you will be the only learner on the day and will, therefore, receive the benefit of One to One training, which means that:

  • You will have Michael’s undivided attention. This means that you will have more opportunities to engage in honest and constructive feedback and be able to discuss areas of your practice that you would like to improve.

  • In addition you will have opportunities to use Michael as a resource – to ask questions, to observe models of classroom management, behaviour control, how postures are introduced, how games are organised, how to teach relaxation and calming activities, how to teach sequences and much more.
