Head's Feedback

Yoga has been such a fantastic addition to our school curriculum. All the children, from Nursery through to Year 6, thoroughly enjoy the sessions and look forward each week to their lesson. Every child has in some way benefited from the calm and thoughtful way in which Yoga has been delivered.

I am delighted that Yoga continues to be an incredibly important aspect of our school life and I am convinced by its positive impact on the children’s concentration and behaviour.

Yoga has undoubtedly increased self esteem and confidence in both our mainstream children and those with special educational needs.

Yoga classes have undoubtedly had a beneficial effect on our pupils and a positive influence on them during the sessions and in the classroom.

The calmness and thoughtfulness with which the yoga lessons are delivered to the whole school, from nursery through to Year 6 consolidates the ethos of our school and the skills pupils are learning in other areas of the curriculum.

Every week we witness how yoga builds on this in an invaluable way. Our pupils look forward to their lessons with great enthusiasm, and yoga is now an essential part of our curriculum at Holdbrook Primary School.

The feeling of inclusiveness gained within the yoga session is impressive, particularly with the way in which our children with autism have adapted to it. I am convinced that Yoga can make a real difference to the lives of children and young people with autism

Michael was flexible in meeting the needs and priorities of children and staff. He showed ways of adapting activities to different individuals and groups. His use of communication strategies was good. His resources were varied and unexpected - promoting fresh thinking about how to approach this type of session. All pupils responded in some way – engagement was good.
