The yoga course author

Michael Chissick is one of the UK’s most successful and experienced teachers of yoga to children, working in both primary and special needs schools. He has outstanding expertise in teaching yoga to children with Autistic Spectrum Disorders (ASD), ADHD and Emotional & Behavioural Problems.

As a primary school teacher, a specialist in children’s self esteem and a qualified British Wheel of Yoga teacher, Michael has an unrivalled breadth of experience. He has been invited to teach, lecture and demonstrate all over the UK and in Europe to children, teachers, local education authorities and universities.

His approach to improving children’s social skills, behaviour, fitness, wellbeing and sense of responsibility is to make the yoga achievable and enjoyable, by making it part of the curriculum where every child is included. The result is children with higher self esteem and greater confidence.

Michael’s sessions are challenging, educational, interactive, realistic, inspiring, provide an abundance of practical ideas and are great fun.

Michael has practised yoga for 35 years, has two grown up children and lives in Essex. His first book, Moving Stories, is published by Auer Verlag GMBH.
